Suck it, Pluto.

This argument annoys me so much that I considered not even mentioning it or acknowledging it in any way. The only labels that matter are the ones that have some utility, especially when they’re used to denote something scientific, and it just came down to the fact that calling Pluto a planet was no longer useful to the scientific community. So, as a scientist, you can’t let nostalgia for something you grew up with get in the way. Anyways, this whole Pluto/planet thing is ridiculous… Here, I’ll let Neil deGrasse Tyson explain it to you. And here’s a tidbit from Sean Carroll.

P.S. Just so you know, Feynman would agree with me.
